What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient medical system which dates back to around 2,500 years ago in China. Chinese physicians, over the years have evolved an intricate healing process which influences the body's own energy known as "Qi" by inserting fine needles directly into specific acupuncture points.

This stimulates the flow of energy which can produce positive change by clearing any obstruction blocking its pathway and strengthening its movement.

Acupuncture is successful in the prevention and treatment of many conditions. It enables the practitioner to find the root cause of illness when diagnosing, thus creating balance within an individual as a whole.

Why choose Acupuncture?

More often than not I see patients in my clinics that have been on a long and stressful journey trying to establish a diagnosis for their symptoms. By the time they discover acupuncture they can feel desperate and at a seemingly dead end.

The wonderful thing about acupuncture is that it involves searching for clues and information with regard to the bodily systems and patterns called “syndromes,” and it is these syndromes that form part of a detailed diagnosis for an individual. In other words each patient does not have to fit into a box or confined to a strict format when treating.

Observation of each patient’s current emotional state also gives clarity on the direction in which treatment should take. Every diagnosis and treatment is specifically planned out for the needs of each patient. These needs can change as treatment progresses and therefore each diagnostic plan must evolve with the well-being of the patient. This enables the natural flow of recovery, with the emphasis on moving toward their full health potential.

Patients can experience positive changes with regard to issues and symptoms that they had not sort help for. This is due to acupuncture being a holistic therapy which addresses a person on each level, physically, mentally and emotionally. Its sole purpose is to find balance within an individual and if the correct diagnosis and treatment is applied, the results in my experience and observation can be profound.
